WBC is furious with Boxrec

The WBC created a de facto super-cruiserweight division back in 2020 with a weight limit of 200 to 224 pounds (90.72kg to 101.6kg) between cruiserweight and heavyweight. They name the division as bridgerweight, after a brave little boy who had saved his sister from a dog attack.

Neither the other organizations, nor the fans, nor Boxrec have accepted the existence of the bridgerweight to this day.

Last week at the WBC Convention, Boxrec management made a presentation too, and WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman thought this was the perfect time to ask Boxrec to acknowledge the bridgerweight. The WBC made an official request on the spot, but Boxrec said no, after which Sulaiman announced that the WBC would immediately suspend its cooperation with Boxrec.
