Ljungquist seeking new opponent for WBA Inter-Continental super-cruiserweight title

Belgian fighter Bilal Laggoune (26-5-2) had agreed to face Danish star Kem Ljungquist (16-0) on March 9 in Copenhagen, eyeing the vacant WBA Inter-Continental super-cruiserweight title. A clear contractual clause was barring Laggoune from competing in other fight prior but Laggoune participated in a bout against unbeaten Russian Artem Suslenkov (9-0-0) on February 3 where his performance was lackluster, losing by TKO on the third round.

Consequently, Laggoune is unable to proceed with the schedule WBA Inter-Continental title fight against Ljungquist, prompting Kem Ljungquist Promotions to seek a replacement opponent. Laggoune’s breach of contract has raised questions about his correctness. Nevertheless, the Copenhagen event will still feature a match for the vacant Danish featherweight title, pitting Ahmad Chauki El Ahmad (3-0) against Michael Nielsen (7-4).
