An IBO & IBF unification title in the undercard of Fury – Usyk event

IBO super-featherweight champion, Anthony Cacace (21-1-0) is gearing up for the fight of his life as he prepares to challenge unbeaten IBF super-featherweight champion Joe Cordina (17-0-0) this Saturday night in Saudi Arabia. Twelve years into his career, ‘The Apache’ will step into the ring for his first unified world title opportunity, but with his history of setbacks—from injuries to inactivity—the 35-year-old won’t be truly confident the fight is on until he begins his walk to the ring.

Previously, Cacace had to pull out of a scheduled bout on a Tyson Fury undercard due to his opponent visa issues. This time, he finds himself on the undercard of a historic undisputed title fight, an event that could change his life and his family’s future. Cacace expressed his excitement about facing what he considers the best in the 130-pound division.

“It’s gonna propel me right to the very top,” he said.

Despite facing a two-time world champion, Cacace feels no pressure. He’s aware of the expectations that Cordina will dominate, but he remains unfazed.

“There’s no pressure on me. Not one bit.”

Cacace, known for his powerful and awkward southpaw style, has a reputation as a hard hitter, though his record shows only seven knockouts. Cordina, on the other hand, claimed his title with a stunning knockout and has been in tough, back-and-forth battles since.

Regardless of his underdog status, Cacace promises not to back down. He’s prepared for a tough, grueling fight, ready to use his power and determination to make an impact. “I’m here to do the job,” he stated. “I’m not here to mess about. It’s a unified world title fight.”
