The 20th Danas Pozniakas Youth Tournament will take place on March 25-30
The 20th edition of the Danas Pozniakas Youth Tournament will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania on March 25-30 this year.
Boxers who were born in 2007 or in 2008 will be eligible to participate in the next Danas Pozniakas Youth Tournament.
The competition was named after Lithuania’s national boxing hero Mr. Danas Pozniakas who claimed gold medal at the Mexico 1968 Olympic Games representing the Soviet Union and also crowned three-times in the history of the European Boxing Championships. During his long and successful career Lithuanian boxing icon, Danas Pozniakas won 203 bouts out of his 217 total contests in the ‘1960s.
The women’s athletes will be boxing in four weight categories in the Vilnius College Sports Hall: 51kg, 54kg, 65kg, and 70kg.
The men’s boxers will able to compete in the following 10 categories in Vilnius: 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg, 90kg and +90kg.
Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Italy and Wales shared the gold medals at the 19th Danas Pozniakas Youth Tournament which was held in Lithuania’s capital in Vilnius on March 2024.
Latvia had also one finalist in the competition while Estonia and Moldova had semi-finalists in the last edition of the Danas Pozniakas Youth Tournament one year ago.
