Romero shocks Garcia, Haney and Lopez win

Rolando Romero (17-2, 13 KOs) got a big victory on Friday in “Times Square”, New York, beating clearly on points Ryan Garcia (24-2, 20 KOs).

Romero dropped Garcia once in round two and after 12 rounds all three judges saw him as clear winner. Two judges scored the fight 115:112 and one 118:109, all in favor of Romero.

 “I’ll talk it over with the team and see what we’ll do. Hats off to Rolly,” Garcia said.

The fight was seen just a step for the rematch between Garcia and Devin Haney. Haney (32-0-0) did his work, beating by unanimous decision (119:109, 119:109 and 118:11), Jose Carlos Ramirez (29-3).

In main event of the card Teofimo Lopez (22-1) defended his WBO World super-lightweight title. Lopez defeated by unanimous decision (116:112, 116:112 and 118:110), Arnold Barboza Jr (32-1).
