Alvarez defeats Scull, fight with Crawford confirmed for September 12
Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs) has become once again undisputed champion in super-middleweight division.
Mexican superstar defeated on Saturday night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, William Scull (23-1) of Cuba via unanimous decision.
In what was a fight with not much action, all three judges saw Alvarez as winner (115:113, 116:112 and 119:109).
34-year-old added the IBF World title belt, to WBC, WBA, and WBO title belts he had.
After the fight it was announced the date for the big fight between Alvarez and Terence “Bud” Crawford (41-0).
Fight will be held in Las Vegas on September 12 and will be for undisputed title in super-middleweight division.
In co-main event Jaime Munguia (45-2) defeated Bruno Surace (26-1-2) in the rematch. Munguia won via unanimous decision (117:111, 116:112 and 117:111).
First fight between them ended with surprise KO victory of Surace in round six.
Badou Jack (29-3-3) defended his WBC World cruiserweight title, defeating Norair Mikaeljan (27-3) via majority decision (115:113, 114:114 and 115:113).
The heavyweight fight between Martin Bakole (21-2-1) and Efe Ajagba (20-1-1) ended in majority draw (95:95, 94:96 and 95:95).
