The strong Thailand Open Tournament had busy sessions in Bangkok

The next edition of the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament started in Bangkok where busy sessions featured in the Huamark Indoor Stadium.

China’s Yang Chengyu reached several top results in the recent two years and the promising boxer controlled all of the three rounds against Uzbekistan’s Paris Olympian Sitora Turdibekova at the women’s 60kg.  

Kazakhstan’s ASBC Asian Champion Viktoriya Grafeyeva (60kg), Philippines’ defending champion at the Thailand Open, Riza Pasuit (60kg), Uzbekistan’s two-time ASBC Asian Champion Navbakhor Khamidova (65kg) and China’s Olympics silver medallist Yang Liu (65kg) all succeeded in their meetings.

Thailand’s Thananya Somnuek, the Asian U22 Champion, moved up to the women’s 65kg weight class but she was impressive against Kazakhstan’s young Nazerke Serik in their respective battle.

Uzbekistan’s Madiyar Daniyarov is a new addition at the 60kg weight class to their national elite team but he was highly confident against Philippines’ John Paul Napoles in the recent session of the Thailand Open.

Jordan’s ASBC Asian Champion and historic World bronze medallist Mohammad Adnan Abu Jajeh used his long distance strategy against Thailand’s teenager Aphichit Chaemdi and he joined the next stage of boxing at the 60kg.

Thanaphansakon Kalaseeram was ASBC Asian Junior Champion in 2022 and the 19-year-old talent had the brilliant technical skills to beat Kazakhstan’s experienced Orazbek Assylkulov in a hectic 60kg weight class contest.

Kazakhstan’s Youth World Champion and four-times ASBC Champion Torekhan Sabyrkhan dominated his bout against Philippines’ Ronald Chavez Jr. but Kyrgyzstan’s US Open winner Ikhtiyar Nishonov, Chinese Taipei’s Kan Chia Wei and Uzbekistan’s Mukhammadazizbek Ismoilov all impressed at the men’s 70kg.
