Kazakhstan’s 19-year-old Torekhan Sabyrkhan and the young Uzbeks all advanced to the finals at the Thailand Open

Kazakhstan’s 19-year-old Torekhan Sabyrkhan and the young Uzbeks all advanced to the finals at the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament in Bangkok.

The Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament is open for all of the National Federations regardless of associations they belong to currently.

Uzbekistan’s Asian Champion Shodiyorjon Melikuziev had a tight success over Thailand’s Thitiwat Phlongaurai at the men’s 50kg weight class and the 23-year-old will now meet for the gold Jordan’s Huthaifa Eshish.

Japan’s Asian silver medallist Sota Nakayama had a tough first round against Thailand’s 19-year-old Thanaphansakon Kalaseeram but in the second he finished the job with heavy shots and the ringside doctor confirmed his RSCI victory.

Kazakhstan’s rising star, the Youth World Champion and the four-time Asian Champion Torekhan Sabyrkhan is only 19-year-old but he is one of the greatest prospects in the whole world. The Kazakh 70kg boxer eliminated Kyrgyzstan’s US Open winner Ikhtiyor Nishonov and he can prepare a hard battle against Uzbekistan’s Mukhammadazizbek Ismoilov.

Uzbekistan’s Javokhir Abdurakhimov is a young talent in the men’s 75kg weight class but he had the strength to beat Jordan’s Zaid Alden Iashash which means that he needs only one further step against India’s Deepak to win the Thailand Open.

China’s two-time Olympian and Asian Games winner Tuohetaerbieke Tanglatihan won two rounds against Uzbekistan’s Samandar Djalolov which was enough for him to meet Kazakhstan’s Dias Molzhigitov in the men’s 80kg final.

Uzbekistan’s former Asian Youth Champion Nusratbek Tokhirov had hard punches to beat Kazakhstan’s Bekzat Tanatar and he will now face for the gold medal Thailand’s Jakkapong Yomkhot who eliminated Kyrgyzstan’s veteran Erkin Adylbek Uulu.
