Kosei Tanaka, former four division champion, retires at age of 29
Kosei Tanaka (20-2, 11 KOs), former four division world champion, decided to retire from boxing at age of 29.
Tanaka announced in social media about retirement.
“I’m retiring as a professional boxer,” Tanaka confirmed. “The reason is all about repeated eye injuries.”
Tanaka lost his WBO World super-flyweight title on October 14 last year. Phumelela Cafu (11-0-3, 8 KOs) defeated him by split decision.
Tanaka held world titles at minimumweight, light-flyweight, flyweight and super-flyweight.
