Noa Sanchez, Alfie Cross and Adrian Silva were the best junior winners at the Portimao Box Cup today

Top juniors such as France’s Noa Sanchez, England’s Alfie Cross and Portugal’s Adrian Silva impressed at the Portimao Box Cup and advanced to the finals of the competition.

France’s Noa Sanchez is one of their top talents in the junior age group who had the another international level opponent today, Spain’s Victor Lopez but he managed to win all of the three rounds in each scorecard to join the final of the light flyweight (48kg).

The men’s junior featherweight (57kg) is a strong category in this Portimao Box Cup and two of the Spanish talents impressed in the second day of boxing. Firstly, Mario Vilches from Jaen, secondly Yousef Fathi defeated their opponents with confidence style of boxing.

Lucas Lopes is a junior boxer from Portimao who used his aggressive attacks to gain the control against England’s Marlee Elphick in the first minute and despite her height disadvantage, he won this bout at the light welterweight (63kg).

England’s Alfie Cross and Ireland’s Cormac Smyth had a unique junior contest in Ring1 and both talents proved their progress. Cross received punches from the Irish side in counter-attacking range but he tried to come back with better footwork in the second round and his efforts were enough to turn back this semi-final.

Spain’s Samuel Cilla Gonzalez won his opener in Portimao on Day1 and he continued his winning path against Ireland’s Barney Doherty at the junior lightweight (60kg) in the second part of the day, stopping his opponent in the second round.

Portugal’s Adrian Silva is a local boxer from Portimao who had a great victory over Ireland’s P.J. O’Reilly at the junior light welterweight (63kg) today. Ireland’s next pride, Padraig Walsh was more successful today, he outpointed England’s Nathan Jones with strong performance and pressure.
