Record number of spectators at the 8th Icebox in Iceland
The eighth edition of the Icebox were held with new spectator record, more than 2,300 people watched the bouts from the venue in Iceland.
Iceland is a developing boxing country in the Nordic area of Europe and their Mr. David Runar Bjornsson is the engine of the competition.
Iceland also hosted one of the previous editions of the Nordic Boxing Championships which helped a lot to make boxing more popular in the island.
Iceland’s female hope, Erika Nott Einarsdottir, a top teenage talent, after a very technical performance against the experienced Norah Guzlander of Sweden, was chosen the Icebox champion (best boxer) at the end of the event.
Elmar Hauti Halldorsson also has international experience as well and he managed his success against Gabriel Marino Robertsson at the men’s 85kg weight class.

U17 -60kg Sigurbergur Einar Jóhannsson won Volodomyr Moskvychoc via UD
U19 -80kg Viktor Örn Siurðsson won Anthony Duret via RSC inround 3
U17 -66kg Artem Siurkov won Arnar Kristbjörnsson via RSC round 2
Elite -75kg Viktor Zoega won William Þór Ragnarsson via UD
Women’s Elite -54kg Erika Nótt Einarsdóttir won Norah Guzlander from Sweden via 4-1 split decision
Elite -85kg Elmar Hauti Halldórsson won Gabríel Marino Róbertsson via UD
Elite -70kg Felix Nyfors from Sweden won Nóel Freyr Ragnarsson via UD in a very competitive bout wich was chosen fight of the night
Elite +90kg Kristófer Deyemo went up a weight class and won Magnús Kolbjörn Eiríksson despite 30kg difference via UD
