Three years before the start of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics the first look of the competition schedule has released

The local organizers of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics released the first look at the competition schedule just three years before the start of the program.

The program of PlayLA celebrated one million program enrolments, which program offers for children ages between 3 and 17 to engage into Olympic sports including boxing.

The boxing program of the Los Angeles Olympics will start on July 15 until 23 while the medal phase of the event will take place between July 27 and 30.

The 144^th IOC Session approved the proposal of the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee and included boxing to the official sports program of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games in mid-March.

The preliminary bouts of the boxing event of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics will feature at the Peacock Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles. The weightlifting events will also held in the Peacock Theatre next to boxing in that world-class venue.

The final stages of the boxing event will take place in another venue, at the Arena in Downtown Los Angeles where the gymnastics and the trampoline also added to the Olympic program as the official venue.

The Arena in Downtown Los Angeles is a multi-purpose indoor arena and it is the home of the famous Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Sparks and the Los Angeles Kings as well.

The total number of quotas will not change in the Los Angeles Olympics which means boxing granted the same 248 spots.

The number of the weight categories has been increased up to 14 with one additional female category in terms of the full gender equality.

The seven women weight categories in the Olympics will be as follows: 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg and 75kg.

The men’s boxers can compete in these seven weight classes in Los Angeles: 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 80kg, 90kg and +90kg.
