WBO orders Usyk to fight against mandatory challenger Joseph Parker

WBO has officially ordered Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) to defend his undisputed heavyweight title against mandatory challenger Joseph Parker (36-3, 24 KOs). WBO gave them teams 30 days to reach an agreement, in case it fails then will be proceeded to a purse bid.

Usyk now has to decide if he want to defend against Parker or to relinquish the WBO title.

“The WBO has officially ordered negotiations for the mandatory heavyweight title bout between Oleksandr Usyk and Joseph Parker. Both parties have 30 days to reach an agreement, or the WBO will proceed to a purse bid”, WBO announced.

Usyk became two-time undisputed heavyweight champion on July 19 when he stopped Daniel Dubois in round five in fight held in Wembley.

Usyk was undisputed champion also in cruiserweight division. After win against Dubois, Usyk mentioned his potential opponents. First name he mentioned Tyson Fury, then Anthony Joshua, Derek Chisora and Joseph Parker.
