The Hungarian Boxing Association celebrates its 100th anniversary in Budapest tomorrow

The Hungarian Boxing Association will be celebrating its 100^th anniversary tomorrow and their management plans a big project to commemorate worthily the centenarian event.

The Hungarian Boxing Association was established on August 17 in 1925 and their bright history will have a wonderful celebration at the Heroes Square in Budapest tomorrow.

Several of the leading officials including the President of World Boxing, Mr. Boris Van der Vorst of the Netherlands will be attending in the celebration in Budapest tomorrow.

Some of the members of the International Olympic Committee, National Boxing Federations’ Presidents, officials from European Boxing and others will be increasing the importance of this 100^th years’ anniversary event.

The event will be held in three rings in the Heroes Square and four more will be added to popularize boxing in the capital city of Hungary.

All of the age groups up to the elites and veterans will be there in the centenarian event in Budapest including several former boxers and celebrities.

Hungary has impressive Olympic boxing history with 10 gold, 2 silver and 8 bronze medals since the 1928 edition.

Their last Olympic title was won by their current National Federation President, Mr. Istvan Koko Kovacs at the Atlanta 1996 edition.

Mr. Istvan Kovacs and the President of World Boxing, Mr. Boris Van der Vorst will be meeting in a friendly encounter at the Heroes Square tomorrow.

The head coach of the Hungarian elite national team, Mr. Emanuele Renzini of Italy selected 16 boxers for the upcoming World Boxing Championships which will be starting in Liverpool on September 4.

Among these strong boxers, the Paris Olympics quarter-finalist Luca Hamori and Levente Kiss both will be participating in the celebration event at the Heroes Square tomorrow.
