Itauma stops Whyte in less then two minutes
Heavyweight prodigy Moses Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) needed less then two minutes to stop former world title challenger Dillian Whyte (31-4, 21 KOs) on Saturday night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
20-year-old stopped Whyte (37) with a flurry of punches after 1:59 minutes in round one and retained the WBA International and WBO Inter-Continental heavyweight titles.
Itauma after the fight said he is ready to fight anybody.
“I will fight anyone you put in front of me. If I’m honest, Joseph Parker and Agit Kabayel do deserve a [title] shot, but chuck me in with any of that lot. I’m ranked No. 1 with the WBO, and Parker is also up there, so maybe that can happen.
“I’m only 20-year-old so I have got 10 or 15 years left. If I get the opportunity [to fight for a world title], 100 percent I will [be world champion].”
Nick Ball (23-0-1) defended his WBA World featherweight title, defeating Sam Goodman (20-1) via unanimous decision (115:113, 118:110 and 117:111).
Filip Hrgovic (19-1) defeated Dabid Adeleye (14-2) via unanimous decision in fight for WBA Continental and WBO International heavyweight titles.
