Olympic Champions as Khalokov and Muydinkhujaev included to team Uzbekistan in Liverpool

Uzbekistan will compete with two reigning Olympic Champions in the upcoming World Boxing Championships which will be starting in Liverpool on September 4.

Sabina Bobokulova, Feruza Kazakova and Nigina Uktamova all claimed several Asian titles during their career, which started internationally in 2019 when the trio was 16. Since then, all of them reached the level of the bests in the world and they are ready to earn medals in the forthcoming competition.

Sitora Turdibekova achieved her Asian title still in 2021 at the age of 19 and the Paris Olympian moved up to the 60kg this year.

Uzbekistan’s best female hope in Liverpool, Navbakhor Khamidova is a two-time Asian Champion star in the women’s national team and she could be a top medal favourite at the busy 65kg weight class.

The newcomer Khumorabonu Mamajonova, the Asian Youth Champion Aziza Zokirova and the Youth World silver medallist Oltinoy Sotimboyeva are also strengthening their female squad in Liverpool.

Abdumalik Khalokov (60kg) and Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev (65kg) were Olympic Champions in Paris and they have several other titles as well. Both of them are planning to achieve their second World title after Tashkent and the duo are in top shape to make that happen.

Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov was World Champion in 2019 but he returned to the squad with an Asian title last December and he is ready to shine at the 55kg.

Youngsters such as Shodiyorjon Melikuziev (50kg), Javokhir Ummataliyev (80kg), and Turabek Khabibullayev (90kg) are defending Asian Champions.

The 20-year-old Shavkatjon Boltayev (70kg), the brilliant Fazliddin Erkinboyev (75kg), the Youth World Champion 19-year-old Akmaljon Isroilov (85kg) and the multiple Asian Champion super heavyweight star, Jakhongir Zokirov are also involved to the squad.
