Five aces from Chinese Taipei are aiming for medals in Liverpool

Chinese Taipei selected four top female and four male boxers to the upcoming World Boxing Championships which will be starting in Liverpool on September 4.

Mr. Liu Chung Tai, Mr. Ko Wen Ming and Mr. Lo Shang Che are top coaches in Chinese Taipei and their hard work delivered amazing results for the country.

Chinese Taipei earned historic medals at the Tokyo 2021 and the Paris 2024 Olympics and the country had record number of six quotas in the French capital last summer.

Guo Yi Hsuan is a small girl who moved up to the women’s 51kg weight class but the 20-year-old talent has the experience from the World Olympic Qualifiers and some other important competitions.

Huang Hsiao Wen is not only a World Champion but she claimed a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics and she has the technical skills to beat anyone in Liverpool once again.

Wu Shih Yi earned a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics which is her career highlight, and the 27-year-old boxer moved down to the 57kg this year where she will be one of the tallest participants in Liverpool.

The powerful and gold medal contender Chen Nien Chin is another ace in the strong women’s national team, the World Champion and the Asian Champion finally earned a medal, a bronze in her third Olympic Games in Paris.

The two-time Olympian 60kg male boxer, Lai Chu En achieved his career highlight at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou where he claimed finally a fantastic silver medal.

Kan Chia Wei had the similar career as Lai Chu En, the 26-year-old boxer is a silver medallist from the recent Asian Games and an Olympian from Paris.

A newcomer Hsu Chiao Chun will compete at the men’s 55kg weight category while another young prospect Lin Yu is their hope at the 65kg.
