Ukraine will compete with 20 boxers in Liverpool including a World Champion

Ukraine will competed with maximum number of 20 boxers at the upcoming World Boxing Championships which will be starting in Liverpool tomorrow.

Ukraine’s 48kg boxer, Hanna Okhota is one of the experienced members of the women’s squad, she claimed a silver medal already at the 2018 World Championships in India.

Anastasia Chernokolenko was also a medallist in the Women’s World Championships but in the 2014 edition and after so many years in the national team, she moved down to the 70kg weight class.

Maria Lovchynska claimed several medals in the recent seven years in all levels of boxing and she is among the favourites at the women’s +80kg weight class.

Yaroslava Marynchuk competed already in European Championships and she has nine years of international routine to beat top boxers at the 51kg.

Tetiana Dovhal earned a silver medal at the 2022 Youth World Championships and she is ready to make a big impact in Liverpool.

Viktoria Shkeul (54kg), Daria-Olha Hutarina (57kg), Natalia Merinova (65kg), Olha Pylypchuk (75kg) and Iryna Lutsak (80kg) are the further female squad members.

The men’s team has a World Champion from 2021 in their line-up, the 23-year-old Yuriy Zakharieiev and despite his few bad years, he could be returned to the top at the 70kg.

The European Youth Champion Aider Abduraimov (60kg) and Dmytro Lovchinskyi (+90kg) both were Olympians in Paris and have strong expectations in Liverpool.

Another experienced prospect, Bogdan Tolmachov claimed already a silver medal at the 2019 European Youth Championships and he moved up to the 90kg this year.

Siyovush Mukhammadiyev (50kg), the veteran Oleh Chulyacheyev (55kg), Elvin Aliyev (65kg), Pavlo Iliusha (75kg), Matvii Razhba (80kg) and Danylo Zhasan (85kg) all have international experience from the previous years.
