Iglesias stops Shishkin in round eight

Osleys Iglesias (14-0, 13 KOs) stopped Vladimir Shishkin (16-2, 10 KOs) in round eight on Thursday night in Montreal, Canada in IBF title eliminator in super-middleweight division.

Cuban dominated the fight and stopped former world challenger Shishkin in round eight. He defended also his IBO World super-middleweight title.

“I was hungry,” Iglesias told The Ring. “[As] a matter of fact, I’m still hungry. When I see a guy making mistakes, ‘The Tornado’ is passing by.

“I noticed my combinations were going in. I saw they were landing. Sooner or later he was going to break, and I got him in the eighth round – he broke.”

Iglesias will be mandatory challenger of IBF champion. Saul Canelo Alvarez (63-2-2, 29 KOs) is undisputed champion in super-middleweight division. He will defend titles on September 13 against Terence Crawford (41-0) in Las Vegas.
