Altogether 294 boxers from 33 countries will be competing at the European U19 Boxing Championships from tomorrow

Altogether 105 female and 189 male boxers from 33 nations will compete at the European U19 Boxing Championships in Ostrava, Czech Republic, confirmed by the Technical Delegate of the competition, Mrs. Susanne Karrlander of Sweden.  

The U19 age group, or previously known as youth, means the 2007 and 2008 born boxers are eligible to participate in Ostrava.

Albania, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and Ukraine are the 33 participating nations.

The first competition day of the European U19 Championships is September 30 while the finals will take place on October 9.

All of the sessions will start at 14:00 and 18:00 each competition day while October 6 is the rest day of the European U19 Boxing Championships.

The first competition day of the European U19 Championships contains 37 preliminary contests in Ostrava.

The fans can follow all of the bouts of the new European Boxing’s first major championship via YouTube streaming from tomorrow.

Two of the top favourites at the women’s 65kg weight class, as Ukraine’s Yulia Stupakova and Netherlands’ U19 World Championships silver medallist Aaliyah Hoppema will meet in the Round of 16 which could be an early final in Ostrava.

England’s U19 World Champions such as Ruby White (51kg) and Ella-Mae Lonsdale (60kg) will meet Lithuanian and Romanian opponents as first in Ostrava.

Azerbaijan’s Bilalhabasi Nazarov and Ireland’s Kurt McIntyre both were named as favourites at the men’s 50kg weight category but they have to meet each other already in the Round of 16.
