Germany started the European U19 Boxing Championships with great victories

Germany started the European U19 Boxing Championships with great victories in the first day of boxing in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

England’s Mohammad Riza Safari moved up to the 55kg weight class this year but the 18-year-old talent adopted that division quickly and he dominated his opener against Israel’s Salim Nijm from the first seconds.

Greece’s Nearchos Konstantinoudis and Romania’s Fabian Stroe both were European Champions in the past and the duo eliminated their Norwegian and Slovakian opponents at the men’s 60kg weight category.

Ireland’s John Maher dominated his first contest against Albania’s Jurgen Lazri while the further favourites of the men’s 65kg such as Romania’s Darius Stegari and Greece’s Emmanouil Fotiadis also joined the next round in Ostrava.

Germany’s Emre Odemis found the best rhythm quickly against Latvia’s Bogdans Pronins and he took the advantage after three minutes of fight. The young German was able to keep the same strong rhythm in their meeting and won this 65kg bout unanimously.

Norway’s Stefan Ogorelica impressed in the annual events and the country’s best male hope shocked Austria’s Moad Eljornazi in the first round. The Norwegian finished the job in the second round with heavy shots and after his RSC victory, he joined the Round of 16.

Germany’s 75kg talent, Marko Nedeljkovic had a good start against Croatia’s Duje Kutlesa and he stopped his opponent in the second round. His teammate, Dietrich Hermann won all of the three rounds against Switzerland’s Marsel Fazlic and he continued Germany’s strong debut in Ostrava.

Poland’s Junior World Champion Fabian Urbanski moved up to the 80kg in the recent months but he had the amazing punching power to beat Croatia’s Juraj Tutundzic while Hungary’s Sandor Varadi also won his first contest by RSC.
