The Mexicans won key contests in La Nucia on Day2
The Mexicans won several key contests in the new edition of the Boxam Youth & Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Tournament in La Nucia on Day2.
Spain’s Joel Gutierrez won the first contest of the second day in La Nucia while Tristan Romero and Fidel Echevarria were patient in the first round in the next schoolboy contest but the latter stepped into the gas in time to win this meeting.
Portugal’s Pedro Aranha used an aggressive style of boxing and it worked well against Spain’s David Gonzalez in the semi-finals of the schoolboys’ 60kg weight class and he will now meet for the gold his teammate, Lisandro Pinto.
Mexico’s Angel Ochoa and his teammate, Alan Ocampos made fantastic performance at the men’s junior pinweight (46kg) today, both stopped their Spanish opponents with powerful combinations.
Georgia’s Emir Ismailovi was the next top junior in the second day of boxing, he defeated his next rival in La Nucia, Bulgaria’s Slavcho Grigorov.
Spain’s Rodrigo Sanchez amazed with his strength, and another junior talent in this U17 age group, France’s Djibril Bouaoun from Chateauneuf, also stopped his Spanish opponent at the 57kg.
Pablo Souto won the first Spain vs. France junior contest against Amine Jarir Benali at the light welterweight (63kg) but Yanis Tavares equalized that with a French victory over the local boy at the light middleweight (70kg), Aaron Santurio.
Mexico’s female youth boxer at the lightweight (60kg), Paula Jazmin Hernandez was too strong for Ireland’s Sionnan McCoy while her male teammate in the same category, Marcos Castaneda also stopped his opponent, Lochlainn Began.
Mexico’s Mateo Lavariega (60kg), Mario Alberto Melendez (60kg), and Jorge Luis Nieblas (70kg) all impressed in the U19 age group in the end of the session.
