Latvia’s Luka Bondarenko won a key contest at the European U15 Boxing Championships

Latvia’s Luka Bondarenko won a key contest at the European U15 Boxing Championships in Budva in the first session of the event.

Ireland’s Zac Creighton won the first male contest of the entire European U15 Boxing Championships, he defeated Turkey’s Mirac Kilic by 4:1 split decision landing enough punctual hooks in this 48kg bout.

Latvia’s Luka Bondarenko competed already in a national event four years ago and he surprised Azerbaijan’s southpaw, Abbasali Mammadli with his energetic and attacks and the Baltic boxer used also hid distance better.

Georgia’s southpaw Vladimir Khvistani, whose brother is also a boxer, and he had the technical skills to keep the best range against Turkey’s Aras Bilal Dogru therefore he can prepare to the next stage of boxing in Budva.   

Azerbaijan’s Eljan Musazada found the best distance against Lithuania’s Deivydas Sisickis in the first round and he continued the similar performance until the last gong to win their 50kg preliminary bout today.

Montenegro’s Hajrudin Djozgic was the first male boxer from the host nation’s squad in action and he had a tight first round against Poland’s Igor Jagiello. The final verdict was depended on their performance in the last round when Jagiello had the good finish to win their 52kg contest.  

Italy’s Mattia Macchelli won the tightest contest of the afternoon session, he succeeded over Finland’s Miio Ristola at the 52kg. Georgia’s Giorgi Akhlvediani won the next contest in that weight class, he triumphed over Azerbaijan’s Ismayil Aslanli.

Greece’s Michail Papazisis moved forward against Czech Republic’s Rene Polak despite his height advantage but that was perfect for his rival. The Czech 57kg boxer won the last bout of the first session using the better strategy in their meeting.
