Ukraine’s David Horvat eliminated one of his main rivals in Budva

Ukraine’s David Horvat eliminated one of his main rivals at the 40kg weight category at the European U15 Boxing Championships in Budva during the evening session.

369 boxers including 131 girls from 32 nations are competing in this record-breaking European U15 Boxing Championships.

Spain’s Adriana Munoz overcame Germany’s Leesha Horger in the attacks in the first round and she had the advantage on the scorecards after one and half minute. The Sevilla-based Spanish opponent was excellent also in the second and third rounds to win this preliminary contest in Budva.

Ukraine’s David Horvat and Ireland’s John Sweeney are among the most experienced U15 boxers but they had to meet already in the Round of 32 at the 40kg. The Ukrainian was patient and he found the best angles to win their meeting by unanimous decision.

England’s Kayden Agostino had a hard road to this competition as he had several top opponents in his homeland. England’s 40kg male talent was smaller than Germany’s Andria Piljiani but he had great actions in the first round from closer range. The German switched into a higher tempo but he was not able to turn back this contest which was another tight bout of the day.

Czech Republic’s Jan Zurek and Lithuania’s Dominykas Garbenis had an equal first round in their 75kg preliminary contest. The Lithuanian stepped into the gas in the second round and he was punctual and stronger in the exchanges to win this bout by RSC.

Croatia’s Marko Mandic began the first round with full focus against Turkey’s Yenerhan Eroglu but her opponent was better and better seconds by seconds to take this last contest at the U15 75kg weight class.
