Uhrova, Beecher, Lobjanidze and the perfect Hungarians impressed in the evening session in Budva

Czech Republic’s Rozalie Uhrova, England’s Laylah Beecher, Georgia’s Liza Lobjanidze and the Hungarians impressed in the evening session of Day4 at the European U15 Boxing Championships in Budva.

Hungary’s Viktoria Nagy started relatively slowly against Ireland’s Ava Harford in the first round but she stepped into the gas in the second. The Hungarian controlled also the third and she will now meet Italy’s Serrena Barbato in the semi-finals of the 44kg.

Ireland’s Ellie Curtin Murray looked quicker in the exchanges than Italy’s Chanel Pascali and she took the lead on the judges’ scorecards after 90 seconds. The Irish girl started the second round with a heavy jab and she deserved to win a medal in this important event.

Hungary’s Silesian Open winner Vivien Varga is only 13-year-old but she has already 22 bouts and after the first round, she found the best distance against Czech Republic’s Anna Roznovjakova. The Hungarian dominated the second and third rounds with heavy jabs therefore she is now a guaranteed medallist in Budva.

Spain’s Zoe Montero found the best rhythm against Romania’s Arianna Onea after 30 seconds and her clear jabs were decisive in this quarter-final at the 54kg therefore the Spaniard will meet Turkey’s Fatima Amine Seferoglu in the last four.

Czech Republic’s Rozalie Uhrova started the first round with energetic attacks against Ireland’s Charley Scott and she delivered her nation’s first medal in Budva where England’s Leona Anaman made a fantastic another great show at the 54kg.

England’s Laylah Beecher was too smart for Poland’s Julia Chara, while Turkey’s Esma Nur Yurtsever stopped Bulgaria’s Letisia Mileva in the same 57kg. A former top boxer from Georgia, Beka Lobjanidze’s daughter, Liza also won a medal in the evening session.
