The Italians won tough U15 battles in the heaviest weight categories

The Italians won the crucial battles in the heaviest weight classes at the European U15 Boxing Championships in Budva on Day7.

England’s Zidane Tazeem eliminated a Hungarian opponent in the quarter-finals and the southpaw tried to keep Ireland’s Charlie Joyce Connolly on long. Tazeem succeeded in most of the exchanges and he will now meet in the final with Ukraine’s Davyd Yuldashev.

Bulgaria’s Nikalas Nikolov started the first round of his semi-final in the same strong way as in the quarter-finals. His opponent from England, Evander Dickinson changed his rhythm in the beginning of the second round which switch delivered for him a place in the finals.

Azerbaijan’s Nurlan Museyibli destroyed his opponents during the road to the semi-finals and he was also too strong for Turkey’s Arda Fidan in the last four. The 14-year-old Azeri boxer saved some fuel in the third round for the final which could be an exciting one against Dickinson.

England’s Thomas Ward was 15cm taller than Albania’s Graciano Shoshi which determined their strategy in their today’s semi-final. The English boy was tactically better than his Albanian opponent and he will be boxing for the title with Georgia’s tough Gigi Archaia.

Ukraine’s Serhii Kotovskyi was brilliant in the second round against Turkey’s Burak Gediagac and after the second standing count, the English referee stopped their unequal contest. The Ukrainian can prepare a real manly fight in the final against Azerbaijan’s Mehran Rasulov at the 80kg weight class.

Italy’s Achille Vinciati avoided the attacks of his Azeri opponent, Erdem Tekin with great footwork and he secured a final spot in Budva. Poland’s Marcel Durys, Bulgaria’s Presiyan Genov and Italy’s Damiano Rizzo won then heaviest semi-final battles.
