England, Ukraine, Georgia and Ireland were the best nations in the men’s finals of the European U15 Boxing Championships

England, Ukraine, Georgia and Ireland were the best nations in the men’s finals of the European U15 Boxing Championships in Budva.

Romania’s Cristi Andrei Casu faced for the title of the boys’ 40kg with Ukraine’s David Horvat who had four tough contests during the finals. The Romanian boxer knew his opponent’s weaknesses and Horvat looked tired and ill in this bout therefore Casu won the title by RSC.

Ronan Charles defeated England’s Mason Long in Ireland before the championship but his opponent prepared with a different strategy in the most anticipated male final of the day. Long made it clear in the first round that he is planning a revenge and he was able to keep the full focus until the last gong to win the first male gold for England.

Ireland’s Patrick Casey was so motivated in the final of the 44kg when he met Israel’s lone boxer in the title bouts, Husam Falah. His coaching staff worked a lot on their game plan for today and Casey followed all of the steps to became champion in Budva.

Georgia’s Giorgi Akhlvediani succeeded over Turkey’s Yagiz Kiymaz at the 52kg while their next champion became Davit Alikhanishvili at the 54kg which he won over Konstantyn Slipchuk of Ukraine unanimously.

Ireland’s Kieran McDonagh had a relatively slow start against Ukraine’s Mark Faniian in the first round but his tactics worked better in the second and his strict jabs guaranteed his gold medal at the 57kg final.

Ukraine’s excellent Ismail Ismailov decided his 60kg final with power while England’s super talented Zidane Tazeem used his superior technical skills to beat Ukraine’s Davyd Yuldashev.

Azerbaijan’s Mehran Rasulov delivered a powerful performance at the 80kg and he bagged his nation’s lone gold medal. Poland’s Marcel Durys used his longer hands against Achille Vinciati.
