Crawford dethroned, Sheeraz will fight Mbilli for WBC title
Terence Crawford (42-0) has been stripped off his WBC super-middleweight title, after World Boxing Council said that the undisputed champion didn’t pay fee, which is about 300,000 dollars.
WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman announced the ruling at the annual convention in Bangkok.
WBC then ordered Britain’s Hamzah Sheeraz (22-0-1, 18 KO’s) to fight Christian Mbilli (29-0-1, 24 KOs) for the vacant WBC World super-middleweight title.
Crawford was not happy with the decision and sent angry message to WBC via Instagram.
Crawford beat Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on September this year and became undisputed champion in super-middleweight division.
