Pacquiao’s son fails to win his professional debut fight
The son of boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, Emmanuel Pacquiao Jr. made a professional boxing debut in USA last weekend, but result was not the one he wished.
24-year-old fought to a draw with fellow debut Brendan Lally. Two judges saw the fight as even 38:38 and one gave Pacquiao Jr. the win 39:37.
Pacquiao Jr. fights in lightweight division.
Eight-division champion Pacquiao said he was happy with debut fight of his son.
Pacquiao told FightHubTV about his son’s debut: “He did well for his first fight. He only had a couple of amateur fights. I am satisfied with his performance.
“We expected more. But it’s a good experience, a professional fight. I am sure that he learned a lot.
“It’s his decision. I cannot stop him if he wants to box.
“I can advise him to put in more strategy. I always told him that boxing isn’t easy.”
