Fress vs. Punch on March 7 for WBO Interim title

WBO number one ranked cruiserweight, German Roman Fress (23-1) will meet Tommy Punch (23-0) with WBO Interim title at stake. Fight is scheduled for March 7 at the Messhall in Magdeburg on a Blanko Sports / SES co-promotion.

Punch is listed as Tahir Kahrovic by BoxRec but has been fighting his entire career as Tommy Punch. He won the WBO European title in 2023 and has patiently waited for his chance. He is ranked number three by the WBO but has no “names” on his record.

Fress is trained by former WBO super-middle champ Robert Stieglitz and has been with SES since turning pro in 2018. His sole loss came in 2022 against Armend Xhoxhaj but he is 8-0 since then winning the WBC International title, the IBO Inter-Continental title and in his last fight, the WBO Inter-Continental title.
