Jovanovic, Sharma and Nileborg were the bests at the 41st Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament

Seventeen boxers earned their titles at the 41st Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament which finished in Subotica, Serbia. Russia, host Serbia, India, Israel and Hungary shared the gold medals in this international youth competition.

Subotica is located in the heart of the Vojvodina region and started this international competition for the 17 and 18-year-old talents more than ago. Boxers who were born in 2005 and in 2006 were eligible to attend in the 41st Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament.

India’s Youth World Boxing Championships silver medallist Bhawna Sharma defeated two Europeans stars in the women’s light flyweight (50kg) and she delivered the most sensational performance in Subotica.

Serbia’s Dragana Jovanovic won medals in all of her major championships in the previous two years and she controlled her exciting final at the women’s bantamweight (54kg) against India’s Supriya Thokchom.

Daria Novinskaya, Daria Panota and Sofya Okhotnikova also shined in the women’s part of the competition in Subotica.

Hungary’s European Junior Champion Krisztian Nileborg continued his winning path in Subotica as well, the 17-year-old talent dominated the light middleweight (71kg).

Serbia’s best youth male boxer is Marko Pizurica, a European medallist, who had a brilliant performance in his final against Austria’s new sensation, Saifullah Saidoulaev.

Israel’s Ariel Prilutsky also proved his amazing developments in this event and he won the cruiserweight (86kg) in Subotica.
