Germany will host U17 and U19 international events in August and in September

The German Boxing Federation introduced their new international events for 2024, the Brandenburg Youth Cup and the German Junior International Open.

Their management, the Secretary General Mr. Michael Mueller confirmed the dates and venues of these upcoming international competitions.

Both competitions will take place for both genders in Germany to support the preparations of the younger U19 and U17 boxers.

The Brandenburg Youth Cup will be held in Frankfurt an der Oder on August 6-11 by the time of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The arrival date is August 6 while the competition period of the Brandenburg Youth Cup is August 7-10 in Germany. The departure of the delegations is August 11 and the event will support the preparations for the Youth World Boxing Championships.

The weight categories for the Brandenburg Youth Cup will be approved in the middle of April but boxers who were born in 2006 and in 2007, are eligible to participate in the German international competition.

The last Brandenburg Youth Cup, their 28th edition was held in Frankfurt an der Oder on August 16-19 in 2023 where England, Ukraine, Ireland, United States, Sweden, and host Germany all amazed the boxing fans.

German Junior International Open will take place in Lindow/Mark on September 22-27 which is an absolutely new competition for the U17 boxers.

Boxers who were born in 2008 and in 2009 will have the rights to compete at the German Junior International Open where the competition period is September 23-26.

The weight categories of the German Junior International Open will be announced at latest on April 30 and all of the National Federations to be informed in time.

The invitation files and the team delegations’ handbooks will be ready in the upcoming weeks and both events are open for all of the National Federations worldwide.
