Brutal war between Wardley and Clarke ends in a draw

The spectacular boxing fight between two undefeated British heavyweights Fabio Wardley (17-0-1) and Frazer Clarke (8-0-1) ended in a split draw.

The fight, held on Sunday night (March 31) in London was for British, Commonwealth and WBO European heavyweight titles. And result couldn’t be contested. Both fighters delivered a boxing war, with non-stop action.

Wardley dropped Clarke in fifth round and Clarke also got one point deducted in round seven.

Wardley in other hand had a bad nose injury and swollen face.

In the end each of judges scored the fight differently. Judge Michael Alexander saw Wardley as winner (114:113), judge Howard Foster (115:112) was in favor of Clarke and judge Mark Bates (113:113) saw it as draw.

It was the main event of the show promoted by Boxxer.

In undercard “Albanian King” Florian Marku (13-1-1) suffered his first loss of career.

Marku was defeated via unanimous decision (96:94, 96:93 and 98:92) by Chris Kongo (15-2) in the fight for vacant IBO Inter-Continental welterweight title.  

There was much heated confrontation between fighters prior to the fight. In the ring Kongo controlled the fight but Marku had also his moments.
