Baraou beats McGowan, defends EBU European title
Abass Baraou (16-1) of Germany have defended his EBU European title in super-welterweight on Friday night (June 14) in Bolton.
Baraou won convincingly via unanimous decision against Britain’s Macaulay McGowan (20-5-2). Scorecards were 118:110, 117:111 and 119:110 in favor of Baraou.
“I wanna head towards world titles. Of course, I wanna stay as active as possible and I see what the management have to offer. I’m ready for anything,” Baraou said after the fight.
In co-main event Steed Woodall (19-2-1) got a surprise victory over Lerrone Richards (18-1) and won WBO Inter-Continental super-middleweight title.
