The Pirkka Tournament finished with its busy final bouts

The exciting finals delighted the Pirkka Tournament in Tampere which was a preparation event for the U19, U17, U15 and U13 boxers.

Altogether 149 boxers are participating at the Pirkka U19-U17-U15-U13 Tournament in four different age groups, representing 10 natio

Norway’s Ihne Tarnes Stavnes exceeded her previous expectations in the final of the women’s U19 54kg weight class and after two busy rounds, she stopped Finland’s Iida Jantunen in the third.

Finland’s Jenny Westman continued her winning path and she defeated Norway’s Ingrid Nilssen Stafne as well. Another U17 talent, Netherlands’ Zoe Vogels smashed a local girl, Miisa Raasakka in the final of the women’s 63kg weight class.  

England’s Amelia Barker was in different level as any of her rivals in the Pirkka Tournament and she was too strong for Vivian Peuraniemi of Finland at the women’s youth 65kg weight class.

Poland’s Igor Soczowka had excellent pedigree but he had to do his very best to beat England’s Finn Harris at the U19 60kg weight category.

Netherlands’ Bjarne Machielse enjoyed her final bout at the U19 65kg weight class, he stopped Sabawoon Babakarkhail with heavy punches while his teammate, Wilem De Jongh walked over to the title of the 70kg.

Finland’s U19 talent, Lis Zharku defeated Iceland’s Alejandro Cordova in a manly fight while Lenni Smedberg also kept the gold medal of the Pirkka Tournament on home soil. Wales, Iceland and Hungary claimed titles in the U17 age group, delighting the event in Tampere.

Poland’s U19 national team members such as Filip Bochenek (55kg), Jan Januszewski (65kg) and Borys Plachta (80kg) all celebrated their victories on Sunday while their U17 boxers, Jakub Gruszka (63kg), Oskar Muszakowski (70kg) and Aleksander Sikora (80kg) are also succeeded in their respective finals.
