Pidnuch, Sabyrkhan and Molzhigitov won the best male finals at the Thailand Open

Thailand’s Khunatip Pidnuch, Kazakhstan’s 19-year-old Torekhan Sabyrkhan and his teammate Dias Molzhigitov won the top male finals at the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament in Bangkok.

Altogether 77 women and 109 men boxers competed for the 20 available gold medals in the annual Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament.

Uzbekistan’s reigning ASBC Asian Champion, the 23-year-old Shodiyorjon Melikuziev won the first male final at the Huamark Indoor Stadium in Bangkok where he was punctual to beat Jordan’s Huthaifa Eshish for the gold medal of the 50kg.

His new teammates, such as Faryozbek Dusmatov (55kg) and Nusratbek Tokhirov (85kg) both defeated strong local Thai boxers as Sarawut Sukthet and the Asian Champion Jakkapong Yomkhot in the final bouts.

Thailand’s duo, Khunatip Pidnuch and the 2022 Asian Champion Bunjong Sinsiri both have several years of international experience and they met in the final of the men’s 65kg weight class and the first was enough strong to beat his older rival.

Kazakhstan’s Torekhan Sabyrkhan is the best talent in the entire world and the 19-year-old boxer had the brilliant technical skills to beat Uzbekistan’s Mukhammadazizbek Ismoilov for the title of the 70kg.

Kazakhstan’s Dias Molzhigitov was not the favourite against China’s Asian Games winner Tuohetaerbieke Tanglatihan but the 23-year-old boxer had the strong tactics to beat the Xinjiang-based opponent in Bangkok.

India’s Deepak (75kg) and the returning Naman Tanwar (90kg) earned gold medals in the Thailand Open after beating Uzbekistan’s Javokhir Abdurakhimov and China’s Asian Games silver medallist Han Xuezhen.

Jordan’s tall Mohammad Adnan Abu Jajeh (60kg) and Ukraine’s Andriy Khaletskyi (+90kg) won the remaining male titles in the Thailand Open.
