The EUBC European Junior Boxing Championships started with 17 bouts in Novi Pazar

The EUBC European Junior Boxing Championships has just opened in Novi Pazar in Serbia where 164 boxers are attending for the 26 available titles.

Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, IBA-Israel, Latvia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Russia, host Serbia, Slovakia and Spain are the participating nations in Novi Pazar.

Serbia’s capital, Belgrade hosted several big competitions in the recent years such as the IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships in 2021 and the IBA Women’s Elite World Boxing Championships in 2025.

The finals of the EUBC European Junior Boxing Championships will be held on July 15 and 16 as the women’s and men’s title contests have been separated into two parts.

Azerbaijan’s Ali Aliyev won the first contest of the entire competition, he defeated North Macedonia’s Petar Trajceski at the men’s junior light flyweight (48kg).

Georgia’s Zaza Mdinadridze and Serbia’s Mario Petrovski were the further winners in the men’s junior light flyweight (48kg) on Day1.

North Macedonia built up new teams in the recent five years and their boxers are more active in the international stage of boxing. Their 15-year-old Arabel Rustemovski has strong family background in the sport and he had a strong start against Israel’s Denys Misiuk at the light bantamweight (52kg).

Latvia also progressed well in the previous years, especially among the junior and youth age groups. Erlens Gravitis worked hard from the first seconds and he had an early stoppage against Malta’s Grima Kinsly at the men’s welterweight (66kg).

Spain’s Efosa Wisdom Igbinovia Igberese is famous of his punching power and he had a great starts against Montenegro’s Matija Roganovic at the light heavyweight (80kg).
