WBO orders eliminator between Bentley and Saavedra

WBO has ordered an eliminator between Denzel Bentley (21-3-1, 17 KOs) and Endry Saavedra (17-1-1, 14 KOs).

Winner of this fight shall face the current champion Zhanibel Alimkhanuly (17-0, 12 KOs).

Bentley has been inactive since he beat Brad Pauls via unanimous decision in December last year in a fight for BBBofC, EBU, WBA Continental and WBO International middleweight titles.

Saavedra last fought in April this year stopping Denmark’s Mikkel Nielsen in round eight in fight for vacant WBO International title.

“The parties are granted 20 days to negotiate and reach an agreement on the terms of the bout,” read the statement from WBO. “Any party may request purse bid proceedings at any point during this negotiation period.

“Should the parties fail to reach an agreement within the prescribed time frame, the committee will proceed to purse bid in accordance with the WBO regulations of world championship contests.

“The minimum bid for the WBO middleweight division is $200,000.”
