The Australian and the US boxers advanced to several finals at the Brandenburg Youth Cup

The Australian and the US male boxers joined to several finals at the Brandenburg Youth Cup in Germany after the third competition day.

Netherlands’ Liz Thijssen won a junior U17 competition in Germany one year ago and she returned to the country with strong development which she showed against Czech Republic’s Kristyna Neumanova. The Dutch girl will be meeting for the gold medal England’s Ella Lonsdale who bowed out Canada’s Alexya Ethier in the second semi-final.

Australia’s Taj Harrington is a new talent at the men’s 50kg weight class but he was brilliant against Italy’s Tommaso Orlando therefore the boxer from Down Under will now meet the US star, Lorenzo Patricio for the gold medal.

Germany’s U19 World medallist Mohamed Al Manouchi moved up to the 55kg weight category but he had the strong strategy to beat Italy’s Sasha Mencaroni which means that he will be meeting with England’s Mohammad Safari for the gold.

United States’ Salim Ellis Bey eliminated Georgia’s Luka Chkhikvadze at the 60kg and he will be boxing another Caucasian boxer for the title, Azerbaijan’s Subkhan Babayev.  

Australia’s Diyanshu Redhu represented his nation at the 2024 edition of the U19 World Boxing Championships in Pueblo and he is now a finalist at the 75kg in the Brandenburg Cup after beating United States’ David Lona.

United States’ Joseph Awinongya was member of their U19 team 2024 as well and the 18-year-old boxer defeated Poland’s Junior World Champion Fabian Urbanski to meet Australia’s Khaled Bassal for the title of the 80kg.

Germany’s Eric Propp and Henry Seiler will meet for the gold of the 85kg while the powerful US boxer, Nnajai Wright and a local boxer, Ahmed Abdulgamidov will face for the title of the super heavyweight in Frankfurt an der Oder.
