Australia has medal hopes at the World Boxing Championships in Liverpool

Australia will send six female and six male boxers to the upcoming World Boxing Championships which will be starting in Liverpool on September 4.

The head of the Australian team, Mr. Santiago Nieva selected the team and he arranged for them all of the training schedules.

The Aussie boxers participated as many event as possible this year including international competitions not only in Europe but in the Americas and Asia as well.

Their Paris Olympian, a great woman hope, Monique Suraci developed rapidly in the previous two years and she defeated top boxers in 2025.

A newcomer in the female squad, Julie Ramadan competed international events in Finland, Spain, Belgium, Kazakhstan and the Dominican Republic to increase her experience.

Marissa Williamson-Pohlman was an Olympian in Paris last summer and she has now more boxing knowledge to make surprises at the women’s 65kg weight class.

Lekeisha Pergoliti moved to the women’s 70kg weight class and she claimed a silver at the World Boxing Cup in Astana.

A World Championships medallist Emma-Sue Greentree moved down to the 75kg and she will replace the Olympic medallist Caitlin Parker in the national team with top expectations.

Eseta Flint represented Tonga in the Olympic Qualifiers but she returned to Team Australia and she won already an international event, a World Boxing Cup at the 80kg.

Omer Izaz will compete at the men’s 50kg weight class while the 20-year-old Jye Dixon is one of the top talents in Australia with bright future.

Jacob Cassar impressed at the World U19 Boxing Championships in Pueblo last year and he joined the elite squad this January.

Callum Peters is the most experienced male team member, the Paris Olympian will return to the team while Marlon Sevehon and Lachlan Lawson also included to the travelling squad.
