Olympians and European medallists will strengthen Team Germany in Liverpool
Germany will participate with three female and six male boxers in the upcoming World Boxing Championships which will be starting in Liverpool on September 4.
Mr. David Hoppstock, the former World Champion Mr. Zoltan Lunka, Mr. Rene Benirschke, Mr. Sebastian Foerster and Mr. Kirill Schaaf will support the team’s preparations while Mr. Martin Volke is their team manager in Liverpool.
Team Germany and their best boxers competed in several preparation events in the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Finland, Sweden, Brazil and Poland in 2025.
The Germans travelled to Sheffield on August 18 to train with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, India, France, and Ireland together in the final stage of the preparation.
Maxi Kloetzer qualified for the Olympics last year and the energetic female boxer returned to the squad in time to compete in Liverpool.
Tatjana Obermeier switched from other martial arts to boxing and she will participate at the 54kg weight category in Liverpool.
Leonie Mueller is a top boxer in the women’s national team, she won several international competitions and she progress in the World Boxing Cups.
Denis Bril almost qualified for the Olympics and the 21-year-old talent moved up to the 65kg weight class to attract in the event.
The European bronze medallist and the Olympian Magomed Schachidov had a few difficulties after Paris but he is back on track with great preparation.
Ammar Abduljabbar was Olympian in Tokyo and the powerful puncher moved down to the 85kg which is better for his height.
The European U22 and Youth Champion Nikita Putilov is the biggest name in the German squad despite his age of 22 and he has medal expectations at the super heavyweight.
Ben Ehis is experienced at the men’s 80kg weight class while the heavyweight Yasse Cisse is a new addition to the squad.
