Former world champion Ricky Hatton has died age of 46.
His body was found at his home in Manchester on Sunday.

“There are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”
Hatton won 45 of his 48 professional fights. 32 wins came by KO. His most famous wins came against Kosta Tszyu for IBF World super-light title and Luis Collazo for WBA World welterweight title. He lost from Floyd Mayweather JR and Manny Pacquiao.
Hatton last fought in November 2012, losing by KO from Vyacheslav Senchenko.
He fought Marco Antonio Barrera in an exhibition in 2022.
After agreeing to fight former rival turned friend Barrera, Hatton spoke about his battles with depression.
He said he became “massively obese”, with his weight reaching 15st 4lb (97kg) as he drank heavily, ate too many takeaways and neglected his health.
In July Hatton announced a return to the ring. He was due to fight Eisa Al Dah at middleweight on 2 December in Dubai.
Organizers said the contest would be a professional bout, but it was unclear whether it would be fully sanctioned.
Many big names of boxing paid tribute.
“Today we lost not only one of Britain’s greatest boxers, but a friend, a mentor, a warrior” says boxer Amir Khan, paying tribute on X.
“Rest well, Ricky. You’ll always have your place in the ring of our memories.”
“Rip to the legend Ricky Hatton may he rip,” the former heavyweight world champion posted on Instagram.
“There will only ever be 1 Ricky Hatton. Can’t believe this so young.”
