Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan earned 13 gold medals in Liverpool

Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were on the top at the World Boxing Championships in Liverpool to earn altogether 13 titles and eight countries shared the gold medals in total.

Kazakhstan’s three-time World Champion Nazym Kyzaibay was aiming for her fourth title in Liverpool but India’s Minakshi Hooda destroyed her golden dreams at the women’s 48kg final.

Chinese Taipei’s Huang Hsiao Wen succeeded in her chase for the third world title, she defeated United States’ Yoseline Perez by 4:1 split decision in the session.

Kazakhstan’s Sanzhar Tashkenbay won a World title in 2023 and he repeated that performance in Liverpool following his success over Mongolia’s Aldarkhishig Battulga at the men’s 50kg final bout.

Kazakhstan’s next World Champion from 2023, Makhmud Sabyrkhan gained the control against Spain’s Rafael Lozano Serrano in the first round and he earned his second world title after his unanimous success.

Uzbekistan’s Olympic Champions from Paris and the World Champions from 2023, Abdumalik Khalokov (60kg) and Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev (65kg) both succeeded over their Brazilian opponents to win their next titles.

Kazakhstan’s Youth World Champion, the 19-year-old Torekhan Sabyrkhan is the biggest talent in the globe and he had the victory over Japan’s World Champion Sewon Okazawa to achieve his first elite title.

Turabek Khabibullayev (90kg), Javokhir Ummataliyev (80kg) and Akmaljon Isroilov (85kg) are the next generation of boxers as well and all of these young Uzbeks earned gold medals in Liverpool.

Uzbekistan’s multiple Asian Champion Jakhongir Zokirov started well against Kazakhstan’s Aibek Oralbay on their repeat match in Liverpool but his opponent made a U-turn in the busy third round to take the super heavyweight title.
