Brilliant female talents will compete at the European U19 Boxing Championships in Ostrava
Altogether 105 female and 190 male boxers have registered to the upcoming European U19 Boxing Championships, which will be held in Ostrava, Czech Republic from September 28 until October 10.
The U19 age group, or previously known as youth, means the 2007 and 2008 born boxers are eligible to participate in Ostrava.
England’s female team will be super strong in the event, Ruby White (51kg), Caitlyn Wise (57kg) and Ella-Mae Lonsdale (60kg) all won gold medals at the U19 World Boxing Championships in Pueblo one year ago.
France’s Maloe Teresi (54kg) was silver medallist in the Youth World Boxing Championships and her teammate, the promising Mathilda Fragnieres (48kg) also have gold medal expectations in the women’s part of the competition in Ostrava.
The Ukrainian girls had fantastic results this year and several of their U19 team members such as Taisia Pokusai (51kg), Yulia Stupakova (65kg), and Anastasia Taran (70kg) all shined in the previous European Championships.
Poland always has a strong female squad in all levels of boxing and their top favourites could be Natalia Niewiadomska (48kg), Oliwia Wasiakowska (57kg), Maja Razik (65kg), Laura Szydlowska (70kg) and Oliwia Rutkowska (+80kg).
The host Czechs has a great and experienced U19 female team, their European Junior Champion Viktorie Jilkova (65kg) and the European Junior silver medallist Julie Polednikova (57kg) are their best hopes in Ostrava.
Hungary’s trio as the European Junior medallist Patricia Petriman (51kg), Sara Nyogeri (54kg) and Sara Varga (57kg) all have strong potentials in the event and need to be watched them in Ostrava.
The arrival day for the competition is September 28, the first competition day is September 30 while the finals will take place on October 9.
