The dream final of the 42kg between Ronan Charles and Mason Long has realized in Budva

The dream final at the 42kg between Ireland’s Ronan Charles and England’s Mason Long has realized on the seventh competition day of the European U15 Boxing Championships in Budva.

Romania’s Cristi Casu had a strong height advantage against Georgia’s Tornike Simonishvili and he used his longer hands well to join the finals as the first male boxer in Budva where he will meet for the title of the 40kg, Ukraine’s David Horvat.

Ireland’s Ronan Charles felt the tempo well against Romania’s Auras Ioan Cantar from the first seconds and he had the routine to box in the same level until the last gong. The dream final of the 42kg has realized with England’s ace, Mason Long and that title contest could be the best in the entire championship.

Ireland’s next sensation, Patrick Casey found the best fighting distance against England’s Thomas Catanach in the first round and he could follow the well-built strategy today. The Irish boy will face for the title of the 44kg with Israel’s flag bearer, Husam Falah tomorrow.

England’s Myles Cash started the first round with full concentration against Italy’s Vincenzo Viola and the referee counted his opponent once in their opener. Cash’s energetic performance paid off in this semi-final bout and his final opponent at the 46kg will be Latvia’s Kirils Volosovs.

Lithuania’s Vakaris Kiseliunas exceeded his previous level of boxing and he joined the finals of the 48kg after beating Ireland’s Zac Creighton. Poland’s Ksawery Urbanski and England’s Shane Keet both won their 50kg semi-finals by 3:2 split decisions against tough rivals.

Ireland’s Kieran McDonagh and Czech Republic’s Rene Polak both are southpaw boxers with dozens of contests during their career and their meeting was won by the first in a hectic semi-final.
