Buatsi defats Parker in the fight for WBA International belt

Joshua Buatsi (20-1) won the WBA International light-heavyweight title on Saturday night in Manchester, defeating Zach Parker (26-2) in a very close fight.

Buatsi won via majority decision. Two judges scored the fight 96:94 in his favor and one scored as draw (95:95).

“It wasn’t my best performance but what do champions do? They win,” Buatsi said in the ring as he was met by boos from the crowd.

Parker felt he won the fight comfortably.

“I won that fight easy, I literally won every round and should be going on to bigger fights,” Parker told DAZN, while close to tears.

In co-main event Lyndon Arthur (25-3) won the EBU European light-heavyweight title, defeating Bradley Reay (21-2) via majority decision. Judges scored the fight, 115:113, 115:112 and 114:114.

Rea dropped Arthur once in round two.
