Italy, Qatar, Libya, Slovakia, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, Poland, Sweden and Bosnia & Herzegovina earned titles at the Hakija Turajlic Memorial Tournament

The Hakija Turajlic Memorial Tournament returned to the boxing map after several years of break and Sarajevo welcomed the participants in a superb four-days long event.

Bosnia & Herzegovina, Chinese Taipei, Croatia, Italy, Libya, Montenegro, Poland, Qatar, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and Tunisia were the participating 13 nations.

Slovakia’s duo, Dominika Vnukova and Karolina Kollarova are great talents in the U17 age group and both won gold medals at the Hakija Turajlic Memorial Tournament after beating their Italian opponents.

Michela Guglielmon, Aurora Turrin and Mira Amadori achieved gold medals for Italy in the women’s U17 level of boxing in Sarajevo, which were also important selection contests for them before the continental championships.

Italy, Montenegro, Sweden and Croatia shared the gold medals in the men’s U17 age group at the Hakija Turajlic Memorial Tournament. The Italians were the best with six gold medals but Montenegro’s trio such as Nikola Raicevic, Veselin Dedic and Matija Roganovic all shined in the event.

Qatar’s new talents as Abdulaziz Abdullatef and Moussa Ratna impressed in the U19 age group and defeated all of their rivals with great technical style of boxing.

Slovenia’s Gasper Pehant (60kg), Montenegro’s Danilo Markovic (65kg), Sweden’s Albin Ellqvist (75kg), Bosnia & Herzegovina’s youth No.1, Zinedin Kadric (85kg) and Croatia’s Josip Tokic (+90kg) all claimed titles in the men’s U19 age group.

Libya sent elite boxers to the competition and among them Ahmed Alkoum (60kg) and Adim Izgayrah (+90kg) succeeded in Sarajevo.

Qatar’s elite gold medal was achieved by Mohammed Debouchi after beating Montenegro’s U23 boxer, Milos Roganovic at the 70kg while Poland’s Tymur Tseben, Lukasz Zygula and Marcin Piejek all won titles in Sarajevo.
