Rafael Lozano and the knockouts delighted the Spanish President’s Cup in Elda

The Spanish President’s Cup was a superb boxing gala in the city of Elda where the World silver medallist Rafael Lozano Serrano and the knockouts delivered a good promotion for our combat sport.

Elda is located in the Alicante region and more than 1,500 spectators followed the bouts and the show today.

Elda’s first boxer in action was a schoolboy, Omar El Hammichi who destroyed Unai Gomez in the first exchanges and the referee stopped their unequal contest.

Enrique Kakulov is the current Spanish National Champion and he met Fernando Pino at the 65kg weight category. The 21-year-old Kakulov landed a tough hook in the first round and he used his in-fighting style to beat the rival.

The European U23 silver medallist Frank Martinez progressed a lot and he won two tough contests at the World Boxing Championships in Liverpool. The ex-Cuban Liester Cantero Pol used his counter-attacking style against his opponent but Martinez was enough punctual today to win the battle of the southpaw boxers.

Jose Luis Saez is a 19-year-old National Champion at the 75kg who developed a lot this year and he used his height advantage against David Rosalen effectively in the second and third rounds to win this tactical contest.

Madrid’s Ricardo Adrian Fresneda, the quarter-finalist from the recent World Boxing Championships, walked over against Santiago Arias of Canarias.

Cataluna’s Guillermo Palau, the silver medallist of the 2024 Spanish National Championships, started better than the current National Champion Abdel Monin and he knocked out his opponent still in the first round.

Spain’s ace in the national team, Rafael Lozano Serrano, the silver medallist of the World Boxing Championships, made the show and he dominated the fight against the Club National Champion Izan Salcedo at the 55kg.
