Reis with split decision victory over Tryc, gets the WBO European belt

German light-heavyweight Artur Reis (16-1) won the vacant WBO European title with a split decision over Poland’s Mateusz Tryc (16-3) on Saturday night in Chemnitz, Germany. The judges scored the fight after ten rounds 96-94 and 97-93 for Reis and 96-94 for Tryc. Tryc was the WBO European champion until Saturday.
In the co-main event of the card promoted by SEA / Blanko Sport, cruiser Armend Xhoxhaj (23-4) won the vacant WBO European title by stopping Finland’s Niklas Rasanen (19-5-1) in the sixth round.
