The Youth Olympics Qualifier, the World Boxing U19 Futures Cup will take place in Bangkok on March 6-16

The lone qualification event for the Youth Olympics, the World Boxing’s U19 Futures Cup will be held in Bangkok on March 6-16.

The female boxers will be able to compete at the 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and +80kg. Among them the women’s 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg and 60kg are the official Youth Olympic categories.

The male boxers will be participating in the event also in 10 weight classes as 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg, 90kg and +90kg. The official Youth Olympics categories among the men boxers are the 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, and 70kg.

Boxers from the 2008 and 2009 age groups are eligible to participate in the event but the eligibility for the Youth Olympic Games is for athletes who were born between November 14, 2008 to December 31, 2009.

The Bangkok Interplace Hotel will serve as the venue of the Technical Meeting and the Official Draw.

The competition venue is the Huamark Indoor Stadium which saw several top boxing events in the recent decades.
